Zunheboto, February 6 (MExN): Awareness and sensitization on COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers (FLWs) of Zunheboto district for Police, District Jail and AWW's was conducted on February 4 and 6 at their respective offices. 

Dr K Akaho, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto appealed to all the participants to come forward and get vaccinated and to not miss the opportunity.

He further advised them not to believe in misconceptions about the vaccine which are being circulated on various social media platforms.

Dr Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH/UIP), gave a brief introduction on COVID-19, symptoms, modes of transmission and prevention.

Giving a detailed explanation on the Covishield vaccine and how the doses are administered, Dr Nukshisangla also appealed to all the participants to get vaccinated in order to stay safe and to protect oneself, family and neighbours, adding that frontline workers are in the high risk exposure category. She requested all the frontline workers to get registered in the CoWIN portal.

Uniel Kichu, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto and Jenithung, Assistant Jailor, District Jail Zunheboto delivered the welcome address during the awareness and sensitization programme. The workshop was attended by all the staff from the respective departments.
