Under decentralized solar PV programme, 24,000 units of solar study lamps will be distributed to the students of Class 8, 9 and 10 studying in Government schools at a subsidized rate.
This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2019-20 of the department of New & Renewable Energy tabled at the 5th session of 13th NLA here by chief minister Neiphiu Rio. The distribution of solar study lamps has been coordinated with the school education department and will be distributed shortly, the report stated.
The report also stated that the Ministry has sanctioned 9810 numbers of solar street lights which will be installed in all the districts.
The beneficiaries will have to deposit their share, the report stated. Under wind projects, 10kWp Wind –Solar Hybrid Plants at 2 locations namely Kohima and Phek district are under construction. The project is expected to be completed shortly, the report stated.
