COVID-19 awareness programme held in Wokha
Wokha, May 17 (MExN): Orenthung Lotha, Deputy Commissioner Wokha informed that out of the 624 stranded persons registered from the district, 282 of them will be arriving shortly.
This was informed in the COVID-19 awareness programme for colony chairmen in Wokha town held at NVBDCP office on May 16.
According to a press release from the District Media Officer, CMO Office Wokha, the DC urged the colony chairmen to support and give suggestions to the district task force for the pandemic preparedness. He further stated that the quarantine facilities at government higher secondary school and Mount Tiyi College have been kept ready to receive stranded persons.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Thungbemo Patton, District Surveillance Officer Wokha who informed the colony leaders that awareness is necessary at this juncture as more stranded persons will be coming to the district soon.
Dr C W Tungoe, Chief Medical Officer Wokha explained about the standard operating procedure for home quarantine and institutional quarantine to the colony chairmen. More than thirty colony leaders from 27 colonies turned up for the awareness programme. Meanwhile a meeting of receiving team and counseling team for stranded persons returning to the district was also held at CMO office Wokha on May 16.
