A&K Cricket Fraternity, United Brothers CC register wins
Mokokchung , February 25 (MExN): The third day of the 29th MDCA Inter Club Cricket Tournament played at Imkongmeren Sports complex witnessed two matches with A&K taking on Mokokchung Guardians and Musketeers CC taking on United Brothers CC.
In the first match of the day, having won the toss and electing to bat first, A&K managed to put up 160 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Mokokchung Guardians could have restricted their opponents to a lesser score if not for their sloppy fielding, dropping few easy catches and conceding 23 extras.
Menchet was the top scorer with 40 runs in 37 balls and Talikaba contributed 35 runs.
For Mokokchung Guardians, Mandal picked 2/28 in 4 overs and Moatemshi took 2/30 in 4 overs . Chasing the target, Mokokchung Guardians fell short by 11 runs in their allotted 20 overs with a loss of 7 wickets.
Rupak was the highest scorer with 40 runs.
Newham was the highest wicket taker for A&K with 3 to his name while Imtichiba chipped in with 2 wickets.
In the second match of the day, United Brothers CC beat Musketeers CC by 10 wickets. Batting first, Musketeers CC managed to post only 37 runs on the score board losing all 10 wickets in 11.3 overs. Chasing the target United Brothers CC batsman got off to a flying start and won the match in just 2 overs.
On February 26, the match between Zungamedem and tournament first timer A&K Cricket Fraternity promises to be an exciting match as both the teams will playing for a spot in the Quarter Finals. In the second match, two most successful clubs in MDCA Tournament, Brotherhood CC and Titans CC will battle it out against each other.
