33 AR refutes NSCN (K) allegation

Dimapur, June 8 (MExN): The 33 Assam Rifles has vehemently denied the allegations leveled against it by the NSCN (K) that the Assam Rifles had provided food and shelter to a group of NSCN (IM) cadres inside an AR Camp in Phek.

“The allegation is mischievously motivated, baseless and totally false. The allegation also appears to be part of a recent game-plan of NSCN (K) leveling false allegations against the Assam Rifles to mislead the public” a PI Cell, HQ, IGAR (North) stated.

The AR maintained that a similar allegation was leveled on March 19 with respect to the situation in Athibung. “It is clarified that the allegation is false. At no stage did the security forces provide food and shelter to the NSCN (IM) cadres” it added while reminding that even in the past, a number of articles against the security forces by both factions, each alleging complicity with the other, have been made.

The AR reminded that the security forces have a specific charter and role to play and do not assist any faction.
