Wokha, October 19 (MExN): The second phase biannual National Deworming Day was observed at GHSS Anganwadi Centre Wokha on October 19.
Dr Kuokholie Savino, Medical Officer RBSK informed that a total of 33,778 children approximately between 1 to 19 years of age will be given Albendazole tablets in 354 anganwadi centres across the district. He also highlighted on the importance of administering deworming tablets to children on periodic basis as it prevent reinfection and morbities in children.
The programme was launched by Mhonbeni Ezung, District Programme Manager (NHM). She stated that the main objective is to help children (1-19 years) reduce transmission of parasitic intestinal worm infection and thereby improve the nutritional status and overall growth of children.
