Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The 4th Rev Yemhi Tilimi Kuposhukulu was held under the theme ‘The house of the servant of God shall be blessed forever’ 2 Samuel 7:25-29 with Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary NBCC, Kohima as the guest speaker at Merhulietsa colony, Kohima on January 27.
According to a press release, late Rev Yemhi, son of Khakhu Lazami and Yahunuo of Kohima village was born “somewhere between 1875-1880 and died on October 3, 1932. He was the first among the Semas to be ordained in the year 1926.”
Rev Yemhi was survived by one son and seven daughters and is presently survived by many great grand children, it stated. He served God and preached the gospel under the period of the following missionaries: Rev & Mrs H B Dickson (1905-1908); Rev & Mrs J. E Tanquist (1912-1928); Rev & Mrs B I Anderson (1928-1932).
Rev Dr Zelhou spoke on the importance of relationship, the relation with God and between men. “Our forefathers treasured this relationship as their biggest wealth but he regretted that this relation is being replaced by technology in present generation,” he observed.
He called upon the children of God to count his immense blessings bestowed upon us, name them one by one and label them upon us so that God’s wonderful blessings will be reflected and people can see God’s blessings through us. He said that the servant of God will be blessed forever but in return we have to be obedient, disciplined, fear God above all else and walk in his path so that we can be called a blessed nation.
The programme was chaired by Nivili Shohe, Associate Pastor Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Church Kohima, welcome note was by Mhonthung Khuvung, greetings by Er Hozheto Shikhu, Additional Chief Engineer (Housing), Special number was presented by the host family, offertory prayer was pronounced by Yambemo Khuvung, Assistant Pastor Zion Baptist Church Kohima, bible reading by Khelito Phucho, Associate Pastor Women Lazami Baptist Church, vote of thanks from Joshua Sumi ex MLA and Chairman RYTK and benediction by Khuwoto Tsuipu, Ex Pastor Lazami Baptist Church.
