5 villages under Shamator undertake coffee training

Tuensang, February 16 (MExN): The Department of Land Resources conducted coffee training for five villages under Shamator block on February 15 where demonstration and technical skills were taught.

 


Welcoming the gathering, District Project officer Land resources Tuensang Puthuto Natso said that coffee is one cash crop which can help improve the livelihood of the rural mass.

 


He said the department being the nodal department for coffee is available for any support to farmers who are keen to take up plantation. 

 


He also encouraged the villagers not to take up the crop for the sake of doing it but to do it sincerely.

 


Sipong Chang, WDT member gave the technical aspect of coffee where he taught on the plantation technique spacing and other aspect of coffee.

 


Victoria who chaired the programme expressed gratitude to the villagers for finding time to attend the training. The training also included interaction where staff from the department gave technical advice.
