Wokha, December 22 (MExN): The 5th Odyutsu Ekhung conference was held on December 17 last, at GHSS Compound, Bhandari Town where hundreds of Odyuo clan gathered from across the district and state.
During the programme, Wochamo Odyuo, Addl. Commissioner of Taxes, Government of Nagaland and Rev Dr Nzan Odyuo, Director, Golden Crown Theological College, Dimapur exhorted the gathering. Wochamo Odyuo encouraged the members present to work for making one self-reliant through dedication and innovation since government job alone will not make one self sufficient. Rev Dr Nzan Odyuo, in his message, asked the gathering to seek the kingdom of God first. He persisted all to search and categorize one’s identity and lineage.
Other highlights of the programme included presentation of folk song by Khongthungia Odyuo and Longshithung Odyuo group and modern song presented by Chandeno S Odyuo.
Earlier, Rev C Ellis Odyuo, Pastor Merapani Baptist Church said the invocation, welcome address by Er RW Odyuo, Chairman, Odyuo Ekhung and greetings by B Elan Odyuo, Chairman, Odyuo Ekhung Bhandari.
Statistical, finance and general secretary report were also tabled by Er Daniel Odyuo finance secretary and Renchamo Odyuo general secretary respectively.
Search committee Dr Rilathung Odyuo, convenor and Chonbenthung Odyuo, secretary declared the newly elected office bearers for the tenure (2020–2022). The new team will be headed by K Mhonthung Odyuo as chairman, Er Abemo Odyuo and Mhonbemo Odyuo as vice chairman, Renjamo Odyuo general secretary, Amos Odyuo finance secretary, P Longshithung Odyuo and A Wojamo Odyuo Joint Secretaries, P Yanbanthung Odyuo Treasurer and Thunglamo Odyuo Info & Publicity Secretary, advisory board members were; Thungjamo Odyuo, Wochamo Odyuo, Khonthungia Odyuo, Rakomo Odyuo and Nzinyimo Odyuo.
