Mughato Awomi wins open category, Pulonito Hesso wins U-16 tourney
DIMAPUR, MAY 25 (MExN): Mughaho Awomi won the 6th Nagaland Online Open Chess Tournament which was held on May 24. Salhuto Nyekha came in second while Khoveto Vero placed third.
In the under 16 category, Pulonito Hesso was the winner while Pezavilie Kuotsu placed second and Kunvuto Awomi came in third.
Meanwhile, Lemsula Sangtam and Tsesam were the “female prize winners.”
Matches were held in 3+0(Blitz) time format with duration of 90 minutes from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
All together 38 players registered for the tournament and 37 actually participated. The series of online chess tournaments is being organised to motivate and give opportunity to young chess players of the state during this lockdown period.
