Blood donation being done on the occasion of the 75th NCC Raising Day in Dimapur.

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 27 (MExN): The 75th Raising Day of the National Cadet Corps was celebrated across the state on November 26.
In Dimapur, the Nagaland Air Squadron NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group HQs Kohima, celebrated the day by conducting flag hoisting at unit premises, blood donation at District Hospital, Dimapur and flying of meritorious junior wing cadets at Dimapur Airport.
Brig Dipankar Saha, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, Kohima expressed happiness for the active participation by the cadets at various Social service and community development activities in the state of Nagaland.
Wing Commander TS Singh, Commanding Officer, 1 Nagaland Air Sqn, NCC expressed his appreciation for Dr T Temsu, Consultant & Incharge, Blood bank at Dimapur Civil hospital for felicitating the blood donation by the 40 Cadets and staff of NCC Group HQ Kohima.
In Mokokchung, the 25 Naga Battalion NCC celebrated the day paying respects to those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in the ‘Wreath Laying’ ceremony in the Mokokchung War Memorial.
This was followed by flag hoisting and NCC song. Speaking on the occasion, Col CST Swamy, Commanding Officer, 25 Naga Battalion NCC explained the gathering that included NCC Cadets, Associate NCC Officers and staff about the history and genesis of NCC in India. He also called upon the cadets to dedicate themselves to the betterment of the nation and always follow the motto ‘Unity and Discipline’.
The officer also explained about the benefits of Voluntary Blood Donation and how 25 Naga Battalion NCC has been encouraging and facilitating Voluntary Blood Donation amongst NCC cadets. He also highlighted the benefits of joining NCC and the value of A, B and C Certificates in gaining employment in the uniformed forces and urged the cadets to attend the upcoming Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) in St Joseph University, Choumukedima from January 4, to 13, 2024. Toshimanen and Meren of the unit were also felicitated for their contribution in renovation of the office.
The event culminated with voluntary blood donation by the Cadets from Mayangnokcha Govt Higher Secondary School and an ex-cadet from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. The Commanding Officer thanked Commandant 12 Assam Rifles and Dr Apong H Tsipongche, District Hospital Blood Bank for the assistance provided in organizing the event.
