Villagers avail ration items from 78th CRPF Battalion.

 

Kohima, April 26 (MExN): Amidst the nationwide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the 78th Battalion CRPF Zubza carried out a Civic Action Programme at Sechu Zubza and Chedema village  under Kohima district and distributed ration items, sanitizers, masks etc. to the poor who are struggling to earn a single meal a day.


The battalion distributed 700 kgs of rice and 14 kgs of dal and other essential and preventive items to the villagers of Sechu Zubza on April 22 and 23 in the presence of Ram Chandra 2 i/c commandant 78th CRPF Battalion AOL, Anil Kumar Jha, i/c, Siva Prasad K.G, D/C, Hari Kumar SL, D/C and Rafiudding Shah, GDMO, subordinate officers and personnel of 78th battalion.


The Battalion also distributed 700 kgs of rice, 140 kgs of dal and essential and preventive items to the villagers of Chedema in the presence of Rajeev Kumar, D, A/C and other prominent members of Chedema village without organizing a formal function.


Meanwhile, Ram Chandra on behalf of commandant 78th CRPF Battalion said that CRPF is a friend for the people in need and is also intending to extend more such programmes in the future.


He also urged the villagers to take active part in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and strictly follow all preventive measures.
