Kohima, September 2 (MExN): As many as 92 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) participated in a two-day workshop on packaging, branding and marketing organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima, on September 1 and 2.

The workshop was organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), with the objective of helping MSMEs improve product value, market visibility and competitiveness.

Deputy Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, Keneirienuo T Zatsu, encouraged participants to actively engage in the sessions and apply the learning to their enterprises. Additional Director K Francis Hekavi emphasised the importance of effective packaging and branding in developing competitive, market-ready products.

Resource persons included Aslam Ahmed, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Sigma Design India; Jaydip Lahkar, Co-Founder & Creative, Sigma Design India; Ranjit Baruah, Founder Director, Aromica Tea; and P Dhanabir Sharma, CEO, Northeast Unexplored (NEUx) and Managing Director, Hemlet.NE.

The sessions provided practical insights and mentorship on building brand identities, developing brand stories, improving product presentation and adopting effective marketing strategies. These included lectures, hands-on activities, interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions tailored to participants' businesses.

The workshop formed part of the Department's efforts under the World Bank-supported RAMP Scheme to strengthen Nagaland's MSME ecosystem and help local enterprises become more competitive, market-ready and sustainable, informed a press release.
