An exhibit billed as ‘A Chain of Wisdom’ featuring the work of seven visual artists from within and outside Nagaland is underway at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.

Nagaland Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports Er Zale Neikha opened the exhibition on August 9. It was organised by the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) in association with Art for Change Foundation (ACF), New Delhi.

The exhibition is about learning, making sense and representing the indigenous as well as the imagined.

Addressing the gathering, Er Neikha said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the state government has vision to promote the Naga youth in the field of music, art and sports.

He thanked Rio for guiding and promoting the youth in many ways.

He assured full support to TaFMA, adding that the coming together of TaFMA and ACF will go a long way in promoting the artists.
He also opined that more of such programmes should be conducted to understand each other’s culture.

Also speaking on the occasion, Nagaland’s Technical Education and Elections Advisor Medo Yhokha asserted that Nagas need time and space to understand the way ahead in music, arts and sports.

He urged the artists to be ambassadors of the Nagas.

Nagaland’s Youth Resources & Sports Secretary Wezope Kenye, TaFMA Advisor Theja Meru and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

TaFMA project director Dr Hovithal Sothu chaired the programme.
