Realities do not allow us to remain silent spectators but compel us to present our views to our people as follows:
1. The Nagas are of the same blood with cultural affinity but are strangers to one another today because they were divided and boundaries. The Nagas have been on the move to unity, integration and sovereignty. But continuation of fratricidal war amongst the Nagas is a negation of the move for unity and integration. It is sadly self- defeating. How do we get integrated and united to live together for good? It is through gradual process of understanding, contact, getting acquainted, and love for one another and doing good to one another. Only love cements the people together. So sense of brotherhood and oneness should be created and promoted through various means. But quite contrary to that, the Nagas intimidate one another, kill one another, a beloved brother are killed by an unknown Naga from other tribe. The folly of the Nagas in this respect cannot be described. How can the Nagas be forced to live together through guns? If the Nagas should be integrated and united to live together, the blunder we have committed should be realized and killings should be stopped and the method of love should be applied. We need the power of love instead of the love of power. But, if killing is justified in any manner, it is antagonistic to the move for integration and unity.
2. Fratricidal war has been going on under the pretext that Nagas National principle should not be compromised. We do agree that Naga National principle should not be compromised but we believe that nothing should be done at the cost of our faith in God. Intentional killing is a compromise of Christian faith in Christ. We are New Testament believers. Sovereignty revolutionary movement cannot annul the word of God. There are two contradictory concepts. True believers of Christ will stand for the word of God. We have to stand for biblical principles because we are all Christians.
3. If hostility among the different factions is put to an end, the door for the process of building up of unity and solidarity of the Nagas is opened. The peace process between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India can become a real peace process for the Nagas as a whole too. We hope that the on going peace process will become a real peace process for the Naga people.
4. Solution lies under the banner of Christ only. Two decades long fratricidal war among the Nagas has been a stumbling block before our neighbours but sacrifice for solution to the conflict for the sake of Christ’s name is a remedy and is a testimony to Christ before the world. In view of this we request that an unconditional declaration of peace be made for the sake of the Nagas. If done so, it would be a great jubilation for the Nagas and a glorification of Gods name. we long to see that our people heave a heavy sigh of relief and have a ray of hope for better understanding, peace and fulfillment of the dream of Nagas unity and Christ be lifted high through you instrumentally.
