A publication titled, "A Resource Book on Skill Enhancement," authored by Chozhüle Kikhi was officially unveiled by SAPO President Er Tepul Hopovi, at the Angami Public Organisation Morung, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on November 22.
The ‘magnum opus’, penned by Chozhüle Kikhi, retired Deputy Director, Horticulture Department, Government of Nagaland, is a meticulously crafted guide designed to empower individuals with an array of skills, enabling them to generate sustainable income streams within the sanctum of their families.
Leveraging her vast and varied experience, Kikhi harbors the aspiration that this book will prove to be a veritable boon to readers, thereby contributing to the economic prospects of the state.
The book contains 3 section including food preservation, home baking of different edible items ranging from fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices etc and methods, techniques of organic kitchen gardening.
All these 3 areas addresses better livelihoods with food security, income generation, prevent food loss, better nutrition etc.
Delivering his keynote address, Er Hopovi underscored the paramount importance of self-employment as a solution for the prevailing unemployment problem in Nagaland, while highlighting the state's abundance of natural resources.
He lauded Kikhi’s dedication and expressed optimism that her future endeavors would continue to illuminate the path of progress for the people of Nagaland.
In her remarks, the author exhorted the citizenry to harness these resources and explore the plethora of opportunities for self-employment, thereby charting a course for sustainable development.
Priced at Rs 300, the book will be available at the Angami Morung, Kisama, during the Hornbill Festival and can also be obtained directly from the author.
