Impur, September 10 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) has expressed disheartenment over the proposed ‘Gau Pratishtha Andolan’ event by Sanatan Dharm community to be in Kohima on September 28.
According to the ABAM, the event in being organised “with a decisive appeal to the Government of India to include cow protection in the central list of the Indian Constitution, to end cow slaughter and recognise the cow as ‘Rashtra Mata’ (Mother of the Nation).”
The movement also intend to emotionally bond all cow devotees from across India under a common cause, it added.
Thus, the Association termed the proposed event yet “another attempt by desperate Hindu religious fanatics to indoctrinate veneration of Cow as part of Hindu Sanadana Dharma.”
“The term Sanadana Dharma has been mispresented by RSS to refer to Hinduism as a unified world religion, a synonym for the ‘eternal’ truth and absolutising the teachings of Hinduism as transcendentof history,” it added.
The ABAM further contended that the Sanadana Dharma is being used by “Hindu fundamentalist as a sectarian creed or a nationalist credo based on occidental ideologies.”
However, it reminded that a sectarian religion, an exclusive religion exists only for a limited time and a limited purpose.
Accordingly, the ABAM condemned what it termed as prohibition of the “cow meat by the Gau Pratishtha Andolan as their intended steps to enforce total vegetarianism or Brahminisation or Hinduisation of the entire nation.”
Such strong, aggressive and offensive understanding of religion can function in isolation as their spiritual vision fails to grasp the commonality of life beyond all human-made differences, it added.
To this end, the ABAM urged Christians not to be deceived by any of the world’s self-claimed holiness like Shankaracharya or any other individual who ‘rejects Jesus’ Blood as a covering for their own lack of Holiness.”
“Only God can impart Holiness to a human being as a gift through Jesus and not through any other substitute,” it added.
