Abu Metha inaugurates dialysis unit, solar street lights at Mon hospital

Mon, September 2 (MExN): Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, inaugurated a dialysis unit under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and solar street lights at District Hospital Mon on September 2.

The inauguration was held at the District Hospital Conference Hall in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mon Wennyei Konyak, NCS, Superintendent of Police Mon Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, civil society leaders and hospital officials.

Speaking at the programme, Metha commended the medical fraternity and Doctors For You for their services at Mon District Hospital, describing its functioning as exemplary and a model for other health institutions in the State.

He called for greater appreciation of healthcare workers for their commitment and sacrifices, and stressed that health, education, and economic and employment opportunities are key to empowerment and development.

Highlighting various State Government initiatives, including those of IDAN, the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), Chief Minister's Micro Finance Initiative and SCK, Metha said the Government's objective was to promote equitable development and connectivity across the State.

He congratulated the people of Eastern Nagaland on the progress towards the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), stressing equality among citizens and collective efforts for the State’s development.

Metha also lauded Doctors For You for its work and expressed hope for continued partnership and collaboration in serving citizens.

Doctors For You representative Sunny Borgohain presented an overview of the project, its activities and the services being provided. Metha later handed over sanction letters to SCK beneficiaries and visited the hospital, where he inspected the wards and campus, informed the State DIPR.
