Adhere to directives, AYO tells public

Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has appealed to the citizens of Kohima to adhere to the government's notification following the promulgation of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.

AYO expressed concern at the behavior of ‘some irresponsible people’ who choose to ignore the standing government order, and are found loitering around. It appealed to all the denizens of Kohima to heed to the restrictions imposed by the government till such time the order stands.

With a case of COVID-19 being detected in Manipur, it has become very vital for sealing and strictly manning the entry/exit points, particularly the Khuzama check gate and the Chümoukedima check gate, AYO stated. It urged the district administration and police personnel to be vigilant and take preventive steps.

On reported incidents of shopkeepers trying to sell essential commodities at exorbitant rates, AYO warned that it will carry out befitting course of action if caught. It also requested the district administration to provide basic protective gears to all the KMC ward sanitation workers.

AYO reminded the public to strictly adhere to the government's order restricting vehicular movement, and requested the police personnel to keep a check on the violators.
