Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): The Akato-led NSCN (R) on Sunday expressed dismay over what it termed as actions of “some adversaries and sycophants,” who it alleged, were hell-bent on interfering with the ceasefire mechanism and derailing the group’s ‘good gesture’ of declaring unilateral ceasefire with the Government of India on November 19, 2021.
Reiterating its stance in a press release issued through its MIP, the NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) however said that if the competent authority would rather be “dancing to the tunes of our adversaries by taking us for a ride and to procrastinate the issue,” the group was “least bothered as to whether or not we are in the ambit of the Ceasefire”
The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) will continue to carry on with the legacy of the Naga National Movement, so as to keeping the Naga Cause alive, come what may, it stated.
It indicated that such “unholy nexus” would be a “blunder” and a “tragic comedy,” while further asserting that it would not be “cowed down by such comical and pathetic drama.”
“NSCN will make sure that we leave behind our trail for our future posterity and children to carry on the legacy, just like it has been passed down to us by our predecessors and our forefathers,” the MIP press release read.
Meanwhile, the release stated that the group’s topmost priority was to always remain in good alliance and maintain peaceful accord with the public and Naga people, “and for which we consider and honour that as the real ceasefire.”
It reminded that “the Naga Cause and the history of NSCN is embedded in pride, courage, honour, sacrifice and also of blood and tears. The legacy of our history and glorious events of which was upheld and passed down to us by our forefathers, and no matter what evil forces tries to subdue will never succeed as in the past, now, or in the future.”
Stating that leaders, soldiers and cadres of NSCN may come and go, it further said that the “formidable banner of NSCN and the Naga Cause will always fly high, and will remain a force to be reckoned with, till it reaches its logical quest and attain its purpose.”
