DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 20 (MExN): The Wokha Deputy Commissioner has issued a public advisory about a sloth bear sighting at Government High School colony Wokha on October 18. In a notice issued through the DIPR, the DC urged the public of Wokha town in general and the government High school and surrounding colonies in particular to take precautionary measures and avoid human movement in nearby jungles and fields, especially at night. Further, parents have been advised to restrict children from playing in isolated areas. It also asked the public to keep their surrounding well lit. A wildlife team from Dimapur and the Forest Department, Wokha are on the job to track and rescue the animal, it was informed. The notice asked the public of Wokha town to lend support to the concerned authority.
