‘AICTE initiatives useful for upskilling students’

Kohima, April 14 (MExN): All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Nagaland held a meeting regarding the various initiatives of National Education Alliance for Technology (NEAT) Cell AICTE at DTE Conference Hall, Kohima on April 14. 

According to a DIPR report, a detailed presentation about the AICTE Internship Portal, ELIS portal, NEAT Scheme was carried out and the principals, senior lectures and officials of the DTE Nagaland attended the programme. 

AICTE started the Internship Portal two years back. The apex body of technical education is offering 16+ lakh internship opportunities.

Vipin Kumar, Assistant Director, AICTE demonstrated the AICTE internship portal, ELIS, NEAT Portal and showed the functionality and facilities of the portals. He also presented the statistics of the various portals till date.

“In Nagaland, due to remote and hill areas, lesser industries are available and students are facing problems to find the suitable internship opportunities and other skill enhancement activities in real-time projects. The initiatives which are explained and demonstrated today will definitely help us to overcome this problem, and it will enhance the employability skills of students of Nagaland State. These kinds of initiatives taken by AICTE are really useful for upskilling, reskilling the students,” said Er M Nakro, Director, Technical Education, Nagaland.

Under these initiatives, enrolled candidates will be aided by a series of learning content provided AICTE Internship platform, NEAT Portal and ELIS portal. These internship opportunities and e-content increases the youth employability through ‘learning by doing,’ also, it will enhance the credentials for graduates. 

The programme was chaired by David Tsela, OSD, Technical Education and Er Vipulhou Lhoungu, Additional Director delivered the vote of thanks for the AICTE officers Vipin Kumar, Baljeet S. Sinwar, Principals and senior lecturers of various institutes.
