AIDA conducts advanced capacity building training

Section of participants attends the advanced capacity building training conducted by AIDA, development wing of Salesians of Don Bosco Dimapur Province from February 14 to 20.

Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), the development wing of Salesians of Don Bosco Dimapur Province conducted a seven-day advanced capacity building training for 31 programme managers, project coordinators, project managers and project officers from February 14 to 20. The training was held at the AIDA Head Office, Don Bosco Campus, Dimapur, stated a press release.

The resource persons were Dr Lukose PJ, HoD, Social Work, Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati, Dr Anna Lungbila, State Coordinator, DDU-GKY programme, Rev Fr Roy George, Executive Director, AIDA, Joseph Mathew, ME Officer, AIDA, Amika Gurung, Programme Manager, CAN Programmes-AIDA, Lanthou Mark Gonmei, Programme Coordinator AIDA-SBI Gram Seva and Garrol Lotha, Programme Coordinator, Child Friendly Dimapur. 

The training touched upon conflict resolution-effective management with various approaches and skills to resolve societal issues and problems, facilitation and negotiation skills-to manage the projects with extreme efficiency and effectiveness, innovation in implementation, PRA to increase community participation, know your project and project cycle management for better planning and implementation of the projects. 

It also included various exercises, group dynamics, sharing of experiences and presentations to enable the participants to have deeper clarity on the ongoing programmes for better implementation of them. 

Earlier, Rev Fr Roy George, Executive Director, AIDA briefed on the purpose of the training. He exhorted the participants to take advantage of the training by equipping oneself with the skills and aptitudes required to effectively implement the various programmes under their care. AIDA always focuses on building dynamic leadership qualities among staff in every aspect of its project implementation. This training programme too was designed to increase the capacity of the project staff with more relevant skills and knowledge, he stated. 

The training programme concluded with a cultural evening.
