ANCSU 19th biennial general conference from November 6-9

The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) today announced that it will be holding the 19th Biennial General Conference from November 6 to 9 under the theme “Transcendence” at Zunheboto Government College, Zunheboto.
Around 1200 delegates from 41 affiliated colleges are expected to attend the conference.
25 delegates have been invited from all the affiliated colleges to the conference.
Briefing media persons at NSF conference hall here today, organizing committee convener Ahito Achumi and co-convener Kesosul Christopher Ltu and ANCSU president Katho P Awomi said the union envisions bringing students together from various colleges, imparting them to transcend academically, socially and other aspects.
Elaborating on the theme, Ltu said that the perception of the theme is to create an environment where academicians, intellectuals, recognized leaders and icons are made to help the students understand excellence beyond the academic syllabus and campus life.
Ltu requested the concerned department to undertake road repairing work so that the road will be pliable during the conference.
He also urged the district administration and citizens of Zunheboto to extend logistic support for the success of the conference.
Meanwhile, ANCSU has requested delegates to take the route via Akuluto.
Dignitaries, guests for conference
The first day on November 6, will have introductory session with School Education advisor KT Sukhalu as the chief host and introductory guest.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the inaugural session on November 7 at 9:30 am while MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu will grace the cultural session the afternoon at 2: 00 pm.
On November 8, Science & Technology, NRE and IT advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon will be the guest for the theme session at 9:30AM and Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along will grace the valedictory session at 5:00 pm.
Naga Students’ Federation (NSF president Ninoto Awomi and SKK president Atokiho will also share greetings.
Events line up
The conference will also be marked by cultural session on November 7 with cultural presentations from various units, folk song, folk music, indigenous games in term of tug of war and pole climbing.
Ltu said the cultural event is to create better understanding of each others’ tradition and culture.
During literary session, the conference will also have debate competition on the topic “The impact of social media is hampering the younger generation.”
Election of new team of ANCSU officials will be done on November 8 afternoon, informed Awomi while saying that nominations will be taken only during the conference.
Miss ANCSU 2019 beauty pageant will be held on November 8 with Glamours Hub Entertainment director Sasongdangba Yaden as the choreographer.
Transcendence
The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) which was established in the year 1979, recounts its purpose of formation to own a common front strengthening and resolving to fight for the rights and privileges of the college students of Nagaland, the concept note of the theme stated.
Today, the ANCSU is reinforced with 41 units that have together withstood for the well-being of its fraternity. The ANCSU bethinks that the 19th Biennial General Conference 2019 under the theme “Transcendence” would ignite the minds of the students towards succeeding the aspiration of the students' community and realizing the need of a progressive nation.
