ANFPSA joins in solidarity with nationwide dharna

Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): The All Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) today extended support and joined in solidarity with the nationwide strike called by All India Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Federation (AIFPSDF) at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi from December 2 to 13.


The nationwide movement kicked off to redress their grievances relating to different aspect of Public Distribution System (PDS) concerning livelihood of the general populace.


A press release from the Association’s President and General Secretary stated the main point of demand includes: Restoration of kerosene oil quota and appoint erstwhile dealers as LPG dealers. To enhance dealer’s margin to Rs 250 per quintal and granting a minimum guaranteed income of Rs 30,000 per FPS dealers every month.


To ensure supply of pulses and edible oil at Rs 20 less and Iodised salt at Rs 5 per kg less than the prevailing market price.
The Federation is also against the privatisation of PDS contemplated by the union government against the concept of “One Nation, One Ration Card” which will create a serious operational complication for the states.


To follow distribution of essential commodities manually by all FPS and avoid introduction of electronic Point of Sales (ePoS) device till the completion of Aadhar seeding. Withdrawal of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)


The nationwide movement agitation has been carried out during the Winter Parliament Session wherein, every state was assigned on rotation basis. The date for eight North East states falls on December 9 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. The release said that ANFPSA will be participating in the dharna.
