•-Due to political pressure, earlier some language officers in the DSE were deputed to the post of DIS thereby violating service rules of the department. In this regard the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTS) in its vide letter No. ANSTA/GEN-1/2007-08 dated Kohima the 7th August 08 submitted a representation to the then principal secretary to the government of Nagaland Department of School education and demanded immediate reversion of language officers holding DIS post and no such type of arrangement be henceforth considered. But the said demand could not be fulfilled owing to a certain reason which is best known by the responsible authority.
However, in the new structure of the department those language officers deputed to the posts of DIS earlier have now reverted back to their original post as language officer which is indeed laudable as justice has been delivered to the case.
The association is also pleased with the new structure for having a separate wing for language education, Hindi, MIL/vernacular and hopes it will develop indigenous languages, promote different genres of literature etc, besides opening promotional avenues for language officers, language, language assistants & language teachers in the department.
