Aowli Festival 2019 organized by the Watsü Mungdang got underway here today at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex with Chubala Wai, Member, Nagaland Public Service Commission, Kohima as special guest.
The two-day “sustainable festival” features a number of activities that envisages promotion of sustainable practices as well as sale of organic products, handicrafts, flowers and exhibition of indigenous seeds. There were competitions on folk dance, model presentation and Indigenous Christmas Tree today as part of the festival.
Release of “Metsübong- A Documentation of Indigenous Seeds in Ao Naga” and Mister and Miss Aowli 2019 contest for children between 6 to 10 years were held later in the evening.
