APMC Kohima builds marketing shed for organic farmers

The Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Kohima under Nagaland State Agriculture Marketing Board (NSAMB) has built a marketing shed for organic farmers of Kohima district.  

The market billed as “APMC Organic Market” was formally inaugurated by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator Kovi Meyase at TCP Gate junction here today.  

Speaking on the occasion, Meyase said that in accordance with the principles of Kohima smart city, the KMC has been doing its best to keep Kohima city smart & clean.  

He urged the vendors to cooperate with the KMC and keep the surrounding clean.  

Appreciating the APMC Kohima for facilitating the organic farmers through the construction of this daily marketing shed, he also asked the vegetable vendors to desist from selling on footpath.   He also urged the vendors to minimize the use of plastics.  

Kevinourheno Seyie, chairman, APMC Kohima said the marketing shed has been constructed to enable the local farmers to sell organic produces and boost the economy. Tia Jamir, member secretary APMC Kohima said the idea behind construction of this marketing shed is also to help promote organic farming.
