•-This has reference to a report which appeared in esteemed Daily papers on 31st July 2011, about the initiative taken by the Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO) Dimapur conducting raids on illegal usage of power in pursuance to a resolution passed by the village council. The Department of Power places on record its deep appreciation to the Village Council, youth leaders and members who took the initiative. They have shown the way to other local village/ urban bodies in the State that we can take action at local level and assist the Government to tackle the menace of illegal power usage. It definitely takes strength of character, conviction and courage to take action against such offenders who may even be your neighbours, friends, kith and kin.
Through this column, Power department once again appeal to all citizens of the State to come together and join hands to create awareness about electricity, stop all such illegal forms of usage and help Government maintain sustained supply of power to our esteemed bonafide consumers.
