Wokha, January 24 (MExN): As part of the ongoing crackdown by Assam Rifles on “insurgent groups,” two NSCN (IM) cadres were apprehended from general area Longsa, Wokha on January 21.
An update from the IGAR (N) stated that “based on specific input, after a stiff chase, troops of Assam Rifles along with police representative launched an operation and apprehended two NSCN (IM) cadres and recovered one point 22 Pistol German make, two point 22 pistol (local made) and two magazines.”
The apprehended persons along with the recovered items have been handed over to Wokha Police Station, Wokha for further investigation, the update added.
