Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): The Assam Rifles issued a clarification on the September 29 ambush in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district, stating that the reports referencing to four personnel being injured was "completely false and incorrect."
A press release from the Assam Rifles clarified that Havildar Jangkhokai Kuki "made the supreme sacrifice for the nation", while the other personnel "carried out effective retaliatory action which forced the perpetrators to flee." "No other personnel sustained any injury," it stated.
The press release urged media to exercise caution while reporting operational and security-related incidents. It added that "Casualty figures, identities, the injuries/medical condition of personnel and other sensitive operational details may be reported only after verification from the authorised Assam Rifles spokesperson/Public Relations Officer."
