Shamator Battalion of 7 Sector Assam Rifles with the local populace of Noklak village, Tuensang District.
Noklak, December 19 (MExN): To boost employment generation and self reliance to locals from remote areas, Shamator Battalion of 7 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) distributed 10 Sewing Machines, 20 tables and 47 chairs in Noklak village, Tuensang District. The machines were provided to the needy women to make them self reliant and provide them a source of income and to achieve socio-economic development and women empowerment. The initiative, as per a press release, will improve skill development amongst women folk and give them independence along with livelihood thereby empowering them to lead a dignified life. The inaugural event witnessed an attendance of over 450 locals. The villagers appreciated the gesture of the Assam Rifles in reaching and hoped that the effort would go a long way in further strengthening the bond between the people of Nagaland and the forces.
