DIMAPUR, JULY 12 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has pointed out that the “expelled group calling themselves Khaplang’s group, numbering around 30 fully armed, including some non-Naga groups from Burma have been camping at Tuensang Village for weeks”. A press note issued by MIP stated that these armed men are causing enormous physical and mental agony to the innocent public in the area. It went on to allege that the Assam Rifles stationed nearby have turned a blind eye to the aggressive designs of the intruders.
“Allowing expelled members of NSCN to roam freely with arms in public area is a clear violation of the Ceasefire ground on the part of the Assam Rifles. The nexus must stop immediately”, the GPRN/NSCN stated while adding that ceasefire ground rules must be adhered to in letter and spirit.
GPRN/NSCN demanded the Assam Rifles to immediately stop its double standard attitude at Tuensang and control “Khaplang gang before situation goes out of control”. GPRN/NSCN Designated Camp at Kuthure/Wongto under Tuensang District is in existence as per the agreement reached between NSCN and GOI”, the MIP note stated while also pointing out that the Camp Commander, 2 i/c and Camp Supervisor at Kuthure/Wongtho Designated camp have declared their allegiance to the leadership of NSCN Chairman Gen. Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi and as such there “should be no confusion on this fact”.
GPRN/NSCN also pointed out that the culprits who threw explosives at 3rd Mile on 30th June are still at large. The names and details of the perpetrators are with the law enforcement agencies and as such those playing with the lives of business fraternity must be brought to justice at the earliest, it demanded and added that their names and telephones are openly being flashed in the media on a daily basis.
