
Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti comprising of the Association of Radio & Television Engineering Employees (ARTEE), the Programme Staff Association (PSA) and Akashvani and Doordarshan Technical Employees Association (ADTEA) of All India Radio and Doordarshan were on agitation for implementation of eight point charter demands which consists of the implementation of some court verdicts of Supreme Court, High and CAT principle bench Delhi.
A release received here said most of the stations are running understaffed even after the GoM (Group of Ministers) approved filling up of 3452 posts. Instead of filling up the posts, the CEO, Rajiv Takru is pressing hard to outsource 2283 posts. When the employees opposed the plan of the CEO to outsource DTH service as well, Rajiv Takru arbitrarily declared the service associations of the department as DE-RECOGNISED and forced the department to issue bulk transfer orders to all association office bearers and senior staffs all over the country to be relieved with immediate effect, violating departmental transfer policy rules, the release said adding that he threatened the officers of the department to be suspended if they fail to relieve the transferees with immediate effect.
Doordarshan Kohima also is victimized with the transfer of two Senior Engineering Assistants and two Senior Technicians creating additional vacancy in the Kendra already suffering under acute shortage of staff, the release said adding that “while the department is unable to provide spares for equipment for the Kendra running with second hand diverted equipment, the CEO is pursuing his vendetta and expending valuable monetary resource on transfer TA advances which comes to several lakhs even for this small Kendra.
The State Secretary, ARTEE, Nagaland have apprised both Member of Parliament, and expressed the urgency to prevent the immanent vacancy arising out of this transfer. This was stated in a release issued by Neizekhotuo Yhome, state secretary, ARTEE, Nagaland.
