DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): The Assam Rifles conducted various medical camps and other activities at several places in the State on July 25 and 26. 

A press release from the IGAR (N) informed that the Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles organised free medical camps in Khongsa town, Khongsa village, Thanamir and Salumi villages of Kiphire District on July 25. 172 people including 67 Male, 63 Female and 42 Children received medical consultation and treatment for basic ailment.

Free medicines were distributed and the importance of adhering to all precautions against Covid-19 and maintenance of personal hygiene also imparted.

The Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Longjang village, Mon on July 25 wherein a medical team of Assam Rifles provided free medical consultancy and medicines to the residents.

Residents were also encouraged to continue the fight against COVID-19 menace with resolve and due caution. 47 Male, 63 Female and 83 Children availed the facility.

The Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles also held a free medical camp at Langnyok village, Tuensang on July 26.

A medical team of Assam Rifles provided medical consultation to 54 Male, 61 Female and 23 Children and basic treatment to the ailing. Free medicines were also distributed on the occasion. Apart from the camp, interaction on women healthcare and awareness about how to build immunity against COVID-19 was also imparted. 

Meanwhile, the Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a lecture cum awareness on COVID-19 at Tobu COB on July 25 with an aim to create awareness about the menace of COVID-19 and measures to prevent community transmission. 

Besides an in-depth coverage about COVID-19 and the precautionary measures, the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation was also covered.  A total of 18 Male and 02 Female from Tobu attended the lecture.
