NIT Nagaland convened the third edition of its annual technical fest, Tech Avinya 3.0, along with the cultural extravaganza Euphonics 2026, on November 5 and 6 at its campus.
Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland convened the third edition of its annual technical fest, Tech Avinya 3.0, along with the cultural extravaganza Euphonics 2026, on November 5 and 6 at its campus, drawing participants from eleven distinct institutions.
The two-day event brought together students from both school and college levels, who competed across a diverse spectrum of technical and cultural competitions, according to a press release issued by the Publicity Team, NIT Nagaland.
Co-organized by the Technical Board and the Cultural Board of the institute, Tech Avinya 3.0 featured a range of competitions designed to assess both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies across technological and engineering disciplines. The principal activities comprised the Hackathon, the Hardware Hackathon and the Robo Track Challenge.
While teams in the Hackathon tackled a series of problem statements to develop solutions within a designated timeframe, the Hardware Hackathon functioned as an intensive, hands-on engineering exercise focused on hardware-centric projects. The Robo Track Challenge centred entirely on robotics and design, requiring participants to race their custom-built machines on the track.
Additional initiatives included CodeRaze, a programming contest; Genesis 3D, focused on three-dimensional modelling and simulation; the Integration Bee; and the Quants Challenge, both designed to assess mathematical proficiency and analytical acumen. Tech Crisis and Stock Race were aimed at acquainting students with entrepreneurship and virtual stock market trading. The technical events collectively offered a prize pool exceeding Rs 2 lakh.
Concurrent with the technical festival, Euphonics 2026 featured a Battle of Bands alongside singing and dancing competitions, providing a platform for students passionate about music and the performing arts. The festival also showcased esports tournaments featuring titles such as BGMI, Free Fire and Mobile Legends.
This year's event expanded significantly beyond the NIT Nagaland campus, with the deliberate inclusion of schools and colleges fostering direct competition among students from varied backgrounds and providing younger participants exposure to inter-institutional technical contests. Tech Avinya 3.0 and Euphonics 2026 concluded on November 6, drawing together students, organizers and volunteers from the home institute and its visiting counterparts.
