Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): Assam Rifles secured the top position in both Hindi and English categories at the North East Zone Inter-CAPF Debate Competition on Human Rights held at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC & S), Shokhuvi, Dimapur on September 5.
Seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)—BSF, CRPF, CISF, RPF, SSB, ITBP and Assam Rifles—participated in the competition, which aimed to sensitise personnel on the importance of adhering to human rights while dealing with the public. A total of 28 speakers took part in the debate, with 14 speakers each arguing for and against the motion in Hindi and English.
Assam Rifles emerged first in both categories. RPF secured second position in the Hindi category, while CISF finished second in the English category.
The Assam Rifles teams in both Hindi and English, along with the RPF team in Hindi and CISF team in English, have been selected to represent the North East Zone in the semi-final of the Inter-CAPF Debate Competition scheduled to be held in October 2026.
Brigadier Chandan Singh Pathania, VSM, Commandant, ARTC & S, appreciated the participants and organisers for the conduct of the competition. He also conveyed his appreciation to the three judges for their contribution and wished the qualifying teams success in the semi-final.
The competition was organised with the objective of reinforcing awareness and strict adherence to human rights principles among CAPF personnel.
