ASTD dismayed over alleged shortage of medical equipments

Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The Ao SensoTelongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has expressed displeasure over the purported shortage of supply of medical equipments viz facemask, PPE, plastic apron, shoe cover and surgical caps and other safety materials for the frontline workers at COVID-19 District Hospital Dimapur. 

While acknowledging the yeoman service rendered by the doctors and nurses by risking their valuable lives, ASTD in a press release stated that “it is the bounden duty and responsibilities of the concern authority/department to adequately supply all necessary medical stuffs.” 

ASTD therefore appealed the authority concerned to immediately take stock of the situation at the earliest.

In view of the eight-day lockdown in Dimapur, the Union has appealed to all citizens of Dimapur town to co-operate with the District Administration and comply with the orders and maintain all COVID-19 protocols.

ATSD also expressed gratitude to the Government of Nagaland and the Department Health & Family Welfare (DH&FW) for the clarification on the charges of swaps test for COVID-19 in the state. 

The Union also appreciated the rapid action put forth by the Kohima Police (crime branch) in apprehending the five accused in connections with a robbery case at Delhivery Pvt. Ltd. It appealed to law enforcing agency to give befitting punishment as per appropriate section of law.
