The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) today issued ‘Students’ Code’ and called for strict adherence.
The Union stated that code has been necessitated keeping in mind the wellbeing of the daily affairs of the students as it has been brought to light that various detrimental activities are being blatantly committed by the students both outside and inside many institutions.
Besides that, the code also covers many other factors which are contributed by the public towards such acts, it stated and sought the cooperation and support of everyone.
The students’ code have been announced after the new team for the tenure 2019-2021 took over the official charge on May 31 and subsequent first executive meeting held on June 7.
ASU reaffirmed to uphold students’ welfare and interest as its top priority.
It reiterated to defend and uphold the interest of the community and the Nagas at large.
“We plan to embark on an initiative to give special emphasis on primary education. We feel primary education and its basic priorities are required to be standardized and be given immense importance. We are committed to take these matters very seriously, stated ASU president Vizokho Zashiimo and general secretary Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo.
On tuition fee structure
The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) also reiterated its resolution on tuition fee structure to be maintained and adhered to in all Angami jurisdiction till further notification.
ASU stated that the tuition fee structure include class 10 and below- Rs. 500 per students as monthly fee with 5 classes a week and minimum 1 hour for every classes; home tuition rate – Rs. 2000 only shall be charged as monthly fee with minimum 1 hour for every class.
The ratio of Teacher/students for a single tuition batch should be 1:6.
The above fee structure is strictly only for urban areas, whereas, the Union endorses and directed all the Units to formulate their own fee structure in their respective villages and jurisdiction.
The Union cautioned any person who fails to comply with the norms will be severely dealt with and requested all institutions within its jurisdiction to take note of the regulations.
Further, ASU urged the general public to inform the Union’s Office in case of any non compliance.
