ATAN bans members appearing before VC

Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): The Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) has appealed its members to “refrain from appearing before the Vigilance Commission,” claiming that the issue pertaining to aggrieved teachers has already been resolved through the Cabinet’s approval on March 21, 2011.   In a statement issued by the ATAN executives today, the association said that the results were declared in July, 2011, and so it feels it is “not necessary to appear before the Vigilance Commission (SIT) as it has crossed all hurdles legally by co-operating with all the investigating agencies.” ATAN said that the “findings of the SIT were found to be inconclusive which prompted the government to set up SVC and DVC,” and based on their findings “the same Cabinet gave its final approval for retention of aggrieved teachers.” ATAN has also urged the Vigilance Commission to “treat the aggrieved teachers with dignity.”
