ATMA Dhansiripar holds training for SHGs

Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The ATMA-Dimapur, Dhansiripar block conducted a within district farmers training programme for the Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Sisterhood Network at Panchayat Hall, Bade village on November 4. A total of 23 SHGs participated in the training programme.

Resource persons for the training programme were Florence (ATM) and Sutsunginla (ATM) who spoke the topic “Package & practices in Pea” and “Package & practices in Chickpea (Gram)” respectively. 

Detailed information about cultivation techniques of pea and chickpea right from land preparation till harvesting were imparted to the members, informed an ATMA press release. 

Demonstration was also conducted for pea and gram where participants were shown preparation of soil, optimum depth of sowing the seed, recommended spacing and line sowing for uniform growth, it said.

A discussion and feedback session was also held during the event. Pea (variety: Rachna) and gram (variety: K-851) seed were distributed to all the participants, it added. `
