Mokokchung, July 28 (MExN): ATMA Kobulong Block, Mokokchung conducted trainings, demonstrations and field day programme at Chami, Longpa and Yisemyong villages from July 25 to 28.
The training was conducted on various topics including sequential cropping of paddy-pulses and scientific management on banana cultivation. Hands on demonstration on chilly, soyabean and nutrient management on banana were also conducted.
Meanwhile a field day programme on 'disease resistant varieties on chilly and tomato' was also conducted.
The resource persons were Renbemo, KVK, ACTO, Mokokchung and Samuel Sangtam, KVK, ACTO, Mokokchung.
Renbemo, KVK highlighted on diseases resistant varieties such as Arka Samrat (tomato) and Arka Meghana (chilly) in comparison to locally available varieties with the aim to popularized and to introduced the varieties in the district since the introduced varieties are susceptible to diseases such as chilli veinal mottle virus and powdery mildew in chillies and bacterial wilt, early blight and tomato leaf curl virus in tomatoes.
In a separate programme revolving funds and seed money were handed over to various FSGs and FIGs. Inputs such as bio- pesticides, bio- insecticides, various seeds and related agri farming tools were distributed to the participants.
