Pfutsero, March 15 (MExN): The Pfutseromi Village Council on Sunday organized an awareness campaign on corona virus (COVID-19) at the Village Community Hall, with Dr Tikeya Kez, Medical Officer, CHC Pfutsero as the resource person.
During the programme, Dr Tikeya Kez apprised the gathering on the origin, spread, symptoms and prevention of the corona virus (COVID-19). Dr Kez said the mantra to keep oneself away from the COVID-19 is to wash hands with soap and water as often as possible apart from maintaining healthy diet, proper sleep, staying hydrated and avoiding handshakes.
He said that people over the age of 50, people who are diabetic, people with hypertension, HIV, TB, smokers etc, are more prone to the virus and suggested they stay fit with exercise and include vitamin c in their diets. He concluded that it is ours to decide if COVID-19 should win over us or we end it by following basic hygiene practices like washing hands with soap and water.
A discussion session was also held where attendants clarified doubts and queries.
According to a press release from Kedounyi Medo, Secretary, Pfutseromi Village Council, Maj Chakraveer Singh, Post Commander 14th AR, Pfutsero, also spoke briefly on the basic awareness for COVID-19.
The programme was chaired by Zekozo Mero, Secretary VDB, Pfutseromi and M Mero, VCC Pfutseromi gave a general remark at the end.
