Dimapur, November 22 (MExN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Dimapur along with Child-Helpline-DCPU Dimapur under the aegis of Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare, observed a week-long Child Rights Week.
In an update received here, it stated that the Children Rights Week began with the celebration of Children Day on November 14 at Chavara Children Home, where Aying Wangsha NSCPCR encouraged the student to recognise and nurture their God-given talents.
It stated that the DCPU along with CHL-DCPU and CWC celebrated Children Day on the theme “Every Child, Every Right” with all the Children of CCIs under Dimapur District on November 15. The programme began with invocation by Husheli Sumi, Counsellor DCPU and was marked with drawing and poetry competition and online singing competition. Keynote address was given by Avika Zhimomi DCPO, DCPU Dimapur and a brief highlight on 1098 was shared by Ng Rangdouliu Case Worker CHL-DCPU Dimapur.
Likewise, the DCPU, CHL Dimapur organised an awareness program at Bethlehem Church. Moajungla LCPO-DCPU Dimapur spoke on the Rights of the Child and POSCO Act. Arenla C Phom PO(NIC) shared about Adoption Rules 2022, whereas Ng Rangdouliu Case Worker highlighted on Child-Helpline 1098.
Furthermore, it informed that a penalty shoot-out was carried out by the DCPU Dimapur with the Children of Open Shelter Home (CEC) Dimapur.
The weeklong Child Rights program ended with an awareness program on Child Rights on November 19 by DCPU-CHL Dimapur, with the four wheeler taxi drivers at the Railway Station taxi stand to safeguard and ensure the safety and well-being of Children.
