Wokha, March 1 (MExN): A one-day awareness programme on PCPNDT Act (pre conception and pre Natal Diagnostic Technique Act) and PMMVY (Pradhan Mantru Vandana Yojana- Maternity Benefit Scheme) and free medical camp was held at Longsachung village Community Hall, Wokha on February 28. It was organized by District Administration and DLCW–MSK under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, Sakhi-One Stop Centre.
A DIPR report stated that during the programme, Case Worker-Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon highlighted on PCPNDT Act & OSC, while Emilo, Assistant District Co-ordinator PMMVY enlightened about the benefits of PMMVY. Dr Thungjamo Jungio, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Nyiro, sensitized the villagers about the COVID vaccination and encouraged all to avail the vaccine for healthy life.
a free medical camp was also conducted for the villagers, 672 patients were treated suffering from various ailments and free medicines were distributed to the patients.
