AYO Conclave & Khriekesa Pelikro Day held in Kohima

Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) Conclave and Khriekesa Pelikro Day was held on November 22 at Rusoma village. VilelieKhamo, Class-1 Contractor, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Speaking at the occasion, Khamo expressed appreciation to Angami Public Organisation (APO) and the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) for their contributions to the society and hoped that they will continue to strive and work for the common good of all the Nagas.
He also challenged the youth to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship and said that “only lazy people stay poor.”
Stating that Nagaland has excess employment in the government sector and that this trend is not sustainable, Khamo stressed on the importance of quality education, skilled labour, and skill development and exhorted the youth to seek for these qualities. “Make these qualities your identity,” he said.
AYO in a press release stated other speakers who exhorted the youth included Dr Kepelhusie Terhüja, President APO; KT Vilie, Vice President APO and Theyiekielie Tachü, first President of the AYO.
Commendations were also given out to the members of the Khriekesa Pelikro (Community First Responders) who have been trained by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority and the Department of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Nagaland, for their dedication and selflessness in times of disaster and natural calamity.
