Joining the rest of the Zeliang community, Benreului Nkwa Kohima today celebrated 49th Langsimngyi festival at Highland Park.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ilang acknowledged the vision of the pioneers for forming the Benreului Nkwa Kohima back in 1973 to bring the community together.

Also raising concern about the unemployment problem, he challenged the younger generation to look for job outside Nagaland and also not focus only on government job alone but also to start venturing out to private sectors, hospitality, farming, skill development etc.

“God’s blessing on our people is enormous as the Benreu Baptist Church (BBU) will be celebrating 125 years of Christianity,” he said and encouraged Benreu community to focus and strive to achieve greater heights  not just spiritually but also educationally and socially.

Other highlights of the event included felicitating students of HSLC & HSSLC securing 80% and above with cash reward and cultural dance (Helim) presented by Benreu Student’s Union Kohima.

The festival was celebrated with higher spirit and gaiety as BBU will be celebrating Quasqui Centenary this year from December 17-18 under the theme “From blessing to glory.”
