Bharat Bandh from 9:00am-3:00pm

NPCC says it’s purely voluntary as the issue concerns the people

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) described the call for the Bharat Bandh on September against rising fuel process as “purely voluntary.”

A press release issued by the NPCC Media Cell today stated that the motive of the bandh does not concerns the Congress party alone but “people from all sections of the society.” “While due consideration has been taken to ensure that the public are not put to inconvenience and routine life disrupted during the bandh, we request the business establishments to down their shutters from 9 am to 3 pm as a mark of protest against the indifference of the central government to reduce oil prices,” the release said.

The bandh will take effect from 9:00am-3:00pm. It stated that Congress party workers will be putting up banners at various locations, especially at fuel stations and also paste awareness stickers on vehicles. “We request the public to cooperate and ensure success of the Bandh,” it added. When contacted for further details, the Media Cell stated that the functioning of government offices, schools, health institutions and movement of vehicular traffic should not be affected.
