Bishop of Kohima Diocese appeals for special prayer on October 31

Kohima, October 28 (MExN): Rev Dr James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima has called upon the faithful of the diocese with a special circular urging to observe October 31 as a special day for prayer and fasting to find ‘just solution’ to the problems “at all levels and particularly for peace and reconciliation in Nagaland.”

“We, as a diocese of Kohima, have been praying the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi for peace and reconciliation in Nagaland since 2015,” a statement from Fr Victor Renthungo, Secretary to Bishop Diocese of Kohima said.

He stated that for the Diocese, the most important issue is for an “honorable and just conclusion to the protracted Naga issues.” Rev Dr James Thoppil appealed for special prayers for a “just peace in Nagaland.”

Stressing the need for the grace and blessing of God to take right and meaningful decision ‘at this critical juncture’, the Bishop requested everyone to “pray the Rosary for the motherly intercession of Mary” on October 31, the day to conclude the month of Rosary.
