BJP Nagaland files cyber crime complaint against Twitter account

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 6 (MExN): The Nagaland State Unit of the BJP today filed a complaint to the Nagaland Police against a Twitter handle for spreading allegedly malicious statements against the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), of which the BJP is an ally. In a letter to the Police Cyber Crime Branch, PHQ, Kohima, PRO to the Nagaland BJP President, Samuel Sumi said that the Twitter Handle @tuhinshurva6 “claims to be posting as a mouthpiece of the BJP, Nagaland tarnishing our party image and probably designed to create inflammatory issues within the Nagaland political circle.” “Such nefarious exercise is uncalled for, when the present dispensation is working hard to give justice to the interest of our people,” the BJP stated. Attached to the complaint were screenshots of the Twitter handle posting allegations that “NDPP leaders are the most involved in sex scandals” and claims that “more than 200 sex rackets are being run in Nagaland under assestation of different NDPP leaders.”
